Progressive Democrats of America now has a Caucus in the 7th Congressional District!

I may be getting ahead of myself here, but what the hey!

On May 25th, I sent out an invitation to about 18 people to see what kind of response I could get about the possibility of forming a formal chapter of PDA in the 7th CD. I've been getting some good responses! If you would like to join, please let me know.

We do have a mailing list, and you can sign up to receive the messages by mail, in digest mode or read them on the website. As soon as we have 5 people signed up, I'll fill out the form on PDAmerica.org to get us identified on their website.

Some of the ideas that I can come up with include helping Jim with his reelection campaign, and be a liasion between his office and the progressive community in Seattle & Vashon. This would mean keeping tabs on what is coming up in the House and helping to get the word out to the people and back to his office on what the Progressive position is on various issues. Letter writing drives, educational events, and keeping in touch with the other CD's and state level PDA chapters and other groups working towards the same goal.

We will be getting together to brainstorm as a group. I'll stay in touch as people respond, and I'll let everyone know when a meeting is planned.
